In light of 1. The world being so unencouraging and 2. Your discovery that Proust paid the printing costs of his writing himself, I thought we all needed a little reality check.  A little pep rally. 

In other words, a little Montell Jordan. 

I mean, once upon a time, even Montell Jordan struggled as an artist!  I know it’s hard to believe.  You don’t have to take my word for it, though – it’s all here, in his own song!

Karaaaa!!!

Thank you for this. SO many thoughts flooded to mind while watching this amazing vid.

1. Would love to go to a dinner party like that and/or throw a dinner party like that.

2. Have you seen Searching for Sugar Man? If not, do so as soon as possible! (We watched it last night, so I'm still on a total high.) But in short, it's another version of that great story of genius/beauty/art going unrecognized... or perhaps, at least of it not going recognized in the classic way we think it should.

3. I really like how Montell raps and sings. You don't really see Kanye or Jay-Z doing that much, do ya?
